FAQ's

Q: Many people have indicated that solar technology has an efficiency rating of of around 20%. What does this mean?

A: Solar panels are rated on the voltage and amps that they are able to produce. Many panels come with 20 year warranties that guarantee that your solar panel will still be producing 80% or higher of its stated voltage and amperage. They are a very proven, reliable and low maintenance technology.

When someone refers to the "efficiency rating" what they are implying is that in Standard Test Conditions (STC), the solar panel is only able to convert 20% of the sun's potential energy into electricity.

Manufacturer's are striving to improve this efficiency rating through research and development and are now approaching 40% efficiency rating.
